I bought the Mathews Atlas at 34″ and 62 pounds. At the shot I literally could not feel the bow had shot. The smoothest bow I have ever shot. With a module change, I can increase poundage. Ive shot quite a few bows since my first bow in 1984 and this is the finest bow of my life

I made the switch from a 55lb recurve bow to this about a month ago. I am 6ft 7 with a 32.5” draw length and when I walked into
The shop I had plans of getting the Hoyt double xl. The guy at the counter handed me this instead. The first time I shot this bow at the range I was in awe. I didn’t think it was possible to have something shoot so smoothly. I had him set up the Hoyt and tried it as well but I ultimately thought this was the better bow. There was another guy there about
My size and he felt the same way. After only shooting it a couple hundred times I feel way more confident then I did with my recurve. It’s fast, quiet and consistent. I may be biased but I love this bow. It was worth every penny. If you’re on the fence BUY THIS BOW!!!

Shot this bow today at dead end archery, and fell in love with it from the very first shot. I haven’t shot a bow this perfect in a long time. I buy a couple new bows every year also. This thing is built perfectly for us big guys, and is absolutely worth every penny , great job Mathews archery.

16 years I’ve been waiting for THIS BOW!!! shooting my Atlas for almost a month now. I’m 6’5” with a 33” draw. This is the smoothest bow I’ve ever drawn. Fast, and quiet as a mouse. Thanks for listening to the big guys!!!

I’m getting back into bow hunting after 30+ years. I’ve been talking with friends who are avid archers and doing a lot of research online. I went to my local archery shop and tried all the top bows. This bow was hands down the smoothest and easiest to draw at 70lb. I could not believe how this bow stood out above all the others. I was very impressed and walked out with one. I’m happy to be back at it with this bow.

Have had many people question my move from a Vertix to the Atlas. The Atlas just fit me so well. It draws smooth like the Vertix but the string angle just let’s me get to my anchor so easily. Super stable at full draw and doesn’t want to jump out of the valley. That is the easiest way to I can describe the feel. Very new to me but loving it already!

I shot 4 different bows when looking to buy a new one. Including an elite, prime, Mathews v3, and Mathews atlas. I was about to get the v3 because of it being more compact. After shooting them both it was an easy decision. The v3 was great but this bow blew it away. The atlas has such a smooth draw and no recoil. The bow is steady and easy to handle even though it is bigger. Not to mention how it shoots. It’s all around a better bow, in my opinion, than the v3. Highly recommend.

5 out of 5 I’m huge! So is this bow!

    Will Larsonberg

I have a 34 inch draw. At just over 6’6” and almost a 7 foot wingspan I didn’t think I would find a bow that I could shoot without serious modifications. Then , the Atlas showed up. Smooth shooting, at 75 lbs and max draw it’s a bit hard to find arrows, but it’s so great to have a bow that fits. Back wall is rock solid, the ultra rest Mx is the sweetest addition to the bow. Very quiet! Wish the color selection was better. A special order with the camp I wanted was 6 months ish out, so I took an OD green one. But hey that’s just cosmetic.

I tossed a new Fast Eddie on it and the Mathews offset stabilization system. A quick tune with the guys at the shop and it’s “”the best shooting bow an ogre like me can shoot!”

A bow that finally fits 30+ inch draw, but MOST important is how smooth and silent it is. Perfectly balanced and literally no “jump” or vibration on the shot. 70# module, 31” draw and it settled in naturally. Smokin fast too!

    Big John (not Dudley)

5 out of 5 First Compound Bow That Ever Felt Right For Me!

    Big John (not Dudley)

Before I got my Mathews Atlas I was shooting a 32″ draw length, and I never really felt comfortable shooting, especially at longer distances. I found out that I actually needed a 33.5″ draw length and nobody at the time had anything in that size. As soon as I saw the specs for the Atlas I put my old bow up for sale and never looked back. The Atlas draw cycle is smooth, the hold is steady and forgiving, and it has plenty of power at my draw weight and draw length. This is by far the nicest bow I have ever shot and until Mathews makes a new Atlas I won’t be switching. I have been shooting better than ever with this bow now that I have the correct draw length. I practice shooting out to 120 yards regularly, and I have even taken my Atlas to a couple of Total Archery Challenge events this year. That’s my arrow in between Sasquatch’s eyes.

    5 out of 5 First Bow in 8 years.WOW

    iD10T

My last bow was a Bowtech Boss.. I did love that bow, but I hated the “jump” it had if I didn’t really hold it back when I was at full draw. I stopped archery hunting and focused on rifle. This hunting season, I didn’t see a thing and I heard all the stories of how well the archery hunters did that season. I went to my local bow shop and tried a few bows, I tried a Hoyt R7 and the “new and improved” Bowtech, I can’t remember the model I shot, but I kept coming back to the Atlas, because it was just so dang smooth. After my last shot, I placed my order for the Realtree camo pattern I wanted. I have a 31″ draw and wow, so smooth. If you are in the market for a new bow and have a longer draw, seriously consider this bow.

5 out of 5 I'm 6'6" and almost cried when I shot this bow.

    Jake

As a taller person, it’s always been hard to truly find a bow that fits. I’m a 32.5 inch draw length and finally am able to get consistent anchor points. I bought the Atlas brand new in the summer of 2021. My review is based on two years of ownership. This bow is so smooth and forgiving. I hunt out of tree stands and have no issues with the ATA or dimensions of this bow. If you have a long draw length and want THE bow, get this. In October of 2022 I shot this buck on our farm at 52 yards. He only went 40 after the complete pass through with a 65# draw weight.

    Jorge

31.5″ draw length here. People always talked about trying different bows at the bow shop and getting eventually finding one that just felt right, felt like it fit. I never had that feeling until I shot the Atlas. As others have said, thank you Mathews for making a bow with tall bowhunters in mind.

Finally a bow for the larger people! Unbelievably smooth draw cycle, feels rock solid at full draw, whisper quiet. Can’t wait to hit the woods this fall with the beast. The price tag stings a bit but once you try it it’s well worth every penny.

Just got this bow and I am very impressed. I have it set at 75lbs and 30.5 draw length. Quiet, consistent. I use the my top pin for 10 to 35 yard shot (shoots very flat). 40 to 45 yards for 2nd pin and 50 to 60 yards for 3rd pin. I’m 6’4″ and this bow is awesome, fits perfectly. I’m also using the Victory Elite arrows with muzzy 100 broadheads. The draw cycle is very smooth, no complaints about this bow.

Along with everyone else, I too can only commend Mathews for such a wonderful bow. The bow is unbelievably smooth and stable in the hand (I don’t even use a stabilizer). I have mine set at 72lbs with a 31.5″ draw length and let me tell you, it can sling an arrow. If you have a long draw length you can’t go wrong here.

I’m still kicking myself for not buying a Mathew’s bow sooner! After always shooting Hoyt’s, I’m totally impressed with this new Atlas! This is by far the smoothest, quietest bow I’ve ever shot! I have it set at 31” draw and 70 lbs, and it is a pleasure to shoot! Can’t wait to get in the woods!

  25. Mitchell

5 out of 5 Atlas review

    Mitchell

I am 6’ 4” with a 32 inch draw and have been bow hunting for 43 years. In the early years
There was no bow manufacturers that made long draw bows. I wasn’t financially able to afford those that did, but even the longest draw bows still didn’t have long enough draw lengths. I shot bows a good bit and hunted more often than most. Not being able to lock my arms back caused periodic injuries in my shoulder until I started shooting Mathews longer draw bows 20 years ago. I have owned 5 Mathew’s in that time all great bows but still not giving me the draw length I needed. When I saw the specs of the Atlas I knew this bow was for me and any other person that shoots over a 31 in draw. I wasn’t let down – the Atlas is the quietest, fastest, most forgiving and accurate bow I have ever shot in my life. When I bough it, I was hesitant because of the price. After buying and shooting it, I’d pay twice what I paid.
